IBM's Watson Tackles Readmissions
IBM's Watson supercomputer is proving useful at more than just beating Jeopardy contestants. Hospitals across the United States have recruited the technology to help them find solutions to challenges they face. Watson is being used at North Carolina Health System UNC Health Care to reduce unnecessary readmissions and to improve patient engagement. To do this, Watson extracts meaningful information from electronic medical records, and the information is used in the development of treatment plans for cancer patients and the creation of a treatment tool through a social network at other hospitals - read more...

The application for ACMA's Accredited Case Manager (ACM) certification exam is now available online. No need to print, fax or mail, simply go to www.acmaweb.org/ACM to apply online today.

Next Deadline: November 15th to Test in 2014 Quarter 1
November 15, 2013, is the ACM Certification exam application deadline for the first quarter of 2014. Applications and payment must be received by the ACMA National Office by this date in order to take the exam during January, February or March.
