ACMA Webinar on Advocacy Efforts and Issues Affecting Case Management
Today from 1-2 p.m. EST/12-1 p.m. CST/10-11 a.m. PST, the ACMA Public Policy Committee will host its final member webinar for 2013. Presenters will outline the recent work of ACMA's Public Policy Committee, and provide insight into Congressional developments and the current health care landscape.

Developed by members of the Public Policy Committee, the presentation will address pertinent topics in health care delivery system case management and transitions of care, such as: the new inpatient rules, the Affordable Care Act (ACA), RACs, observation and the three-day stay requirement, readmissions and more.

As the new year approaches, we are also planning for the 2014-2015 ACMA fiscal year, which begins May 1, 2014. This planning includes determining ACMA's national committees for the 2014-2015 fiscal year.

Apply by November 15 to Earn Your ACM Credential
 
November 15, 2013, is the ACM Certification application deadline for the first quarter of 2014. Applications and payment must be received by the ACMA National Office by this date in order to take the exam during January, February or March.

If you are not yet ACM certified, we encourage you to apply now.

Submit Your Poster Presentation Proposal
The deadline to submit a poster presentation proposal is approaching quickly. The Poster Session will take place during the 2014 ACMA National Conference in Chicago, IL, April 10-13, 2014. ACMA is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve the practice of case management. If you have a program or project that has had a positive outcome or provided a valuable resource to your patients, facility, or agency, we encourage you to submit an application.

Application for the Franklin Award of Distinction
for Transitions of Care Available Online
 
The 2014 Franklin Award of Distinction for Transitions of Care application is available online. Newly redesigned to account for recent changes in health care, the Franklin Award now extends its focus to recognize exemplary transitions of care in case management.

The Franklin Award is presented annually by ACMA and The Joint Commission to an organization that exhibits excellence and distinction in hospital/health system case management and transitions of care. Pursuing this national award for excellence in hospital case management and transitions of care provides a unique opportunity to promote the advancement and recognition of case management within your organization, as well as an opportunity to scrutinize your model and processes. Both ACMA and The Joint Commission encourage all organizations with distinctive case management departments to apply.
