Happy Holidays from the Florida Chapter of the ACMA!

A Message from our President,

Hello everyone,

The end of the year is here once again!  Happy Holidays to everyone!  I thought I’d take a few moments to thank our long-time members and welcome all our new members!  This year has been one of significant growth for our Florida Chapter!  This year brings a new membership first for us, we are over 1400 members strong!

For those of you who are new, I’d like to introduce myself and our Chapter leadership.  Our Chapter has a board of eleven CM professionals from across the state.  The Chapter Executive team includes Mike Medlin (President-Elect), Ronda McNeill (Treasurer), Rosa Saumier (Secretary), and last, me, Patrick O’Boyle, Chapter President.

My thanks to the ENTIRE BOARD for their hard work and dedication. Being a Board member is an honor, but it’s an honor that requires a lot of work!  We would not be where we are today without your help.  THANK YOU.

In review, 2024 had its successes and challenges for all of us.  Our conference in August was amazing.  Thank you all that attended!  We listened to your suggestions for 2025, so look for information soon on the 2025 conference site, agenda, etc.…  The hotel for 2025 is awesome, and the walk to the conference rooms will be minimal!  Our Chapter Conference has become the model for other chapters to learn from!  It’s been my honor and privilege to lead this dynamic organization, I look forward to 2026 and the success it will bring us!  We actually presented at the fall LPAC conference on the success of our conferences!

Sadly, our fall Air Trek International Air Show Party had to be cancelled due to the impact(s) of hurricanes Helene and Milton.  But that won’t slow us down!  Look for new exciting learning and social events from the chapter as well as our 2025 conference!

JOIN US.  We need your help!  Do you have an interest in advancing your career by supporting the chapter?  Join one of our committees.  We have education, exhibitor, membership, social media, conference planning, and nominating committees. They all need your help and support.  If you would like to join us, or have questions, please contact us at mailto:ACMA.FL.CHAPTER@outlook.com.

Have a great holiday season!

 Patrick, ACMA FL Chapter President.

The 2024 CHAPTER CONFERENCE! WHAT A TIME WE HAD!

Thank you to all of the Attendees, Sponsors, Exhibitors, ACMA National Staff, and our Board of Directors for making the 2024 Florida Chapter Annual Conference a HUGE success!  We learned a lot, had great speakers, met over 50 exhibitors and learned of their services.

Our pre-conference reception attendance was spectacular!  over 70 conference attendees came to our reception to enjoy a free CE session from Air Trek's own, Dana Carr.  This was followed by Bar and Appetizer service!  Join us NEXT YEAR for an even bigger event!

FYI, we are ALWAYS looking for SW's and RN CM's interested in joining our Committees, assisting the Board. Reach out if you would like to learn more!

Here's a few pics we'd like to share.

Karen Vanaskie was one of case management's brightest and most dedicated professionals. She was serving as Secretary / Treasurer on the ACMA National Board of Directors at the time of her unexpected passing on June 21, 2024.

At the request of Karen's family, ACMA has set up the Karen Vanaskie Scholarship Fund. Karen was passionate about the need for case management certification. She actively supported her staff in pursuing the Accredited Case Manager (ACM) Certification. To continue her legacy, this scholarship fund will cover the cost of their ACM certification application fee for those to whom it is awarded. We believe this continues Karen's legacy.

ACMA and APLCM are proud to announce the latest iterations of the National Case Management and Transitions of Care Survey and the Physician Leaders in Care Management Survey, which have been the only source of comprehensive data for the case management industry since 2001. This ongoing research incorporates over 20 years of data, offering invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of case management, transitions of care, and physician advising.
